ARTIST COMPETITION 2025
*CALLING ALL WYOMING ARTISTS!*
It’s time once again for the artist competition for our Limited Artisan Collection. The 2025/2026 candle will be named TANSY HILLS. Starting TODAY we’ll be opening up submissions for artwork by Wyoming artists ages 21+ (must be currently living in Wyoming) that closely follow the guidelines below . Submissions are due by *MARCH 1st* at midnight and must be submitted via email (wyocandleco@gmail.com), FB messenger, or Instagram messenger. WYO Candle Co. and friends will narrow the submissions to the Top 5 finalists and open up the voting to all of you for one week on social media beginning March 3rd. SAGE Community Arts will be involved in the voting again as well. As before, the staff and board of SAGE will vote on the finalists and their pick will receive an additional 25 votes! Winner also receives access to SAGE consultation and an opportunity for gallery space (to be determined by SAGE). New for this year: Ballard's Fine Art Gallery will also be involved in the voting process and their pick will receive an additional 25 votes! That's 50 extra votes! Whichever art piece receives the most total votes by the deadline will be declared the winner.
*SUBMISSION GUIDELINES*
→ Must include at least one discernible tansy flower.
→ Must adhere closely to the provided color palette (e.g. no blue tones).
→ Previous submitting artists may submit again, but no artist may win consecutive years (we want each year to have a new winner).
→ Artists may submit up to 3 separate pieces.
→ Art piece(s) can be realist, abstract, graphic, pattern, scenic, folk, lino print, or digital (see Vision Board), in any of the following mediums: painting (oil, watercolor, digital, etc.), pastel, pencil, charcoal, digital, etc. The possibilities are endless!
→ Size: 12”x8.5” HORIZONTAL ORIENTATION (image of winning piece will eventually be sized down to 3.25”x2.28” for the label, so sizing and proper orientation are important). Please wait until competition has ended and a winner has been selected before adding signature to art piece(s).
→ Must be able to attend Artist Reception and TANSY HILLS launch during the first week of May.
*PERKS!*
In addition to their artwork being featured on the new Limited Artisan Collection candle, the winning artist will have the original artwork displayed at our downtown Production House for 1 month after winning and will also be able to sell it and any reproductions/prints of that piece, along with other original pieces *with the same theme*, during the Artist Reception event in May (details will be discussed further with submitting artists). Winner will also receive 10 free 9oz TANSY HILLS candles to give to family and friends. Finally, the winning artist will receive a fixed commission from the TANSY HILLS candle sales paid quarterly during the year their artwork is featured. All artwork will remain the property of the submitting artist and is able to be used how they see fit at the conclusion of the year. SHARE, SHARE, SHARE this post/link and tag all your Wyoming artist friends, and let’s get this thing going! A huge shout out to last year’s winner, Nathan Trampe, and the wonderful Sagebrush Prairie. Here we go, WYOMING!
